Feathers Badminton Club Banbury

Feathers Badminton Club Banbury

Blessed George Napier (BGN) School, Addison Road, Banbury ,
The club started out in a one court hall at Harriers Ground Primary School in the early 1980's with one mixed team which started in Division 6! At this point the club was called Harriers. From this the club started to establish itself in the leagues and entered Mens and Ladies Teams also and in the mid 1980's started a junior club, from this junior club it has produced players who have gone on to represent Oxfordshire at Junior and Senior County Level. As the club gained more members it began to move up the leagues and eventually outgrew the one court hall, therefore it had to move, which meant a move to Drayton School (which is now North Oxford Academy) in the 1990's. With this move brought success as the Harriers teams were now in the Top Division's and winning the Division 1 titles. This also brought a merger between Feathers and Harriers, the Feathers team was purely a 5 Discipline team playing in the Oxfordshire League, and claiming the 5 Discipline Division 1 title several times. The club was then known as Harriers Feathers for several seasons before the Harriers was dropped and the club was now in its current form as Feathers. In 2006 the club moved to the new sports hall at BGN School which was built in 2005 thanks to lottery funding after the school was awarded specialist sports college status in 2004, and is one of the best venues in the area. 2012-2013 Season Club Nights for the new season recommence on Wednesday nights starting on Wednesday 5th September from 7pm till 10pm at BGN School Sports Hall, Addison Road, Banbury.
