BDI has a managing committee (board) comprising of Banchory residents. The group helps local people develop projects that benefit the town and surrounding area. Bonny Banchory - local people maintain the flower baskets, plant the bulbs and pick up the litter. Scolty Centre clients water the baskets. Youth Industries - local adults support young people to develop their own projects and activities for other young people. Banchory Energy Reduction Initiative - local people helped homeowners reduce energy bills, promote local transport and cycling and insulated three community halls. Scolty Trails Enhancement Project - Paths were improved and new signs to make it easier to climb Scolty Hill.

Banchory Business Association was formed in the summer of 2011 to bring all the local businesses together, to work together to make Banchory a thriving community for everyone to enjoy.
