Barking Apprentice
Barking Apprentice, developed in partnership with Barking and Dagenham Council, is managed by industry professionals and staffed partly by apprentices.
Barking Apprentice Cafe & Bar is a social enterprise run by charity training for Life. We provide training and work experience for people who, for one reason or another, have found life tough. Few of them have ever worked successfully. All have become trapped in long- term unemployment.
Since 2004, we have created more than 400 apprenticeships and over 70% of
those have moved into jobs within the hospitality industry where they are thriving at work and contributing to society in a way that had been denied to them when unemployed. We are very proud of them and hope that many more will follow in their footsteps.
