Filleigh Village Hall

Filleigh Village Hall

Filleigh, Barnstaple ,
Filleigh Village Hall has been awarded HALLMARK *** by The Community Council of Devon. We are the first hall in North Devon to achieve this level, and only the 2nd in all of Devon. Filleigh Village Hall has been dubbed the ‘Queen of Village Halls’ and is set in the heart of rural North Devon, between Barnstaple and South Molton not far from the A361, North Devon Link Road, and access to the M5. The hall is positioned behind the local Primary School and is surrounded by a large tarmac car park which has room for coach parking. The hall has views over green fields and is situated within the glorious Grade 1 listed private estate of Castle Hill. The Hall has wheelchair access throughout and has a disabled toilet which doubles as a baby changing facility. The entrance foyer gives access to the Main hall and a smaller Meeting/club room. The main hall is spacious, light and airy with under-floor heating for the cooler days and double doors opening out onto a sheltered covered patio area for the warmer ones. There are also ceiling fans. It has a semi-sprung floor, suitable for dances, dinners, wedding receptions, private parties, meetings, conferences and badminton. There are sufficient tables and chairs, together with matching cutlery, for 200 people. There is a flexible, modular stage and blackout curtains. A hearing loop are available on request. There is also a large seating area beside the main hall which can be curtained off to provide a changing area for plays and other productions. This area can also accommodate a bar if required. The Meeting room is also accessed from the foyer and has a hearing loop together with a screen and projector. Both rooms have separate access to the large well-appointed kitchen which has 3 free-standing stoves with gas hobs and each has double electric ovens – suitable for the largest of functions. There is also a large commercial dishwasher that makes easy work of the job of washing and drying up. There is access to the exterior of the hall from the kitchen to facilitate bringing in any equipment used by outside caterers.
