About us
We are a traditional martial arts club offering classes in all levels of Taekwondo. Our classes are suitable for all ages and abilities and we promote family and children's training. Through learning Taekwondo you will gain new levels of fitness, discipline and confidence. You will also gain valuable self defence techniques and skills. Most importantly of all, you will have a lot of fun taking part in this fast pace exciting Olympic sport.
What is Taekwondo?
Tae translate as "to Kick" or "Smash with the feet",
Kwon translate as "punching" or "destroying with the hand or fist", and
Do translate as "way" or "method."
Taekwondo is an unarmed combat for self-defence that involves the skilful application of techniques that include punching, jumping kicking, blocking, dodging, parrying actions with the hands and feet.
Taekwondo is practised by more than 30 million people in 156 countries and has been an Olympic sport since 1988. It is very popular with children.
Positive Impact TKD
A modern and dynamic club, which started in June 2010 in South Bermondsey. Very popular club in the area with more than 40 students, and a lot of after-school classes in the neighbourhood schools.
We prepare our students in a controlled safe environment by fully qualified instructors to:
Sparring: WTF and Olympic type fight with head, chest, arms, legs protections.
Poomsae: A demonstration of patterns executed solo or with teamnoted by a jury.
Instructors
Craig Brown, chief instructor. 8 times UK Champion, double European Bronze medallist, 2004 Olympian. Member of the team GB for 10 years. Craig is an A-Class at an international level. He is renowned for his incredible speed.
Perre Daobry, instructor. Winner of regional Poomsae competitions. He is famous for his immaculate technique.
