Chicken Licken's Egg Emporium
Contact me at the Emporium if you would like to buy the ladies' bounty; these eggs are, quite simply, the best eggs on the whole of the planet earth.
The ladies are free range, roaming round their spacious pen (and the garden!), digging under the trees for worms and beetles. They love the fallen apples in the autumn and are particularly partial to left-over mashed potato (as long as it's been made with butter and milk...)
They have palatial living quarters with pine-scented bedding for optimum comfort. If they're poorly, they come and live in the porch, sharing the porch with the Pleasure Palace belonging to Mrs Magoo, my blind hen. The Pleasure Palace is Mrs Magoo's box where she sleeps at night.
The flock consists of 14 different breeds, from the magnificently moustachioed French Faverolles to the stately galleons; the Jubilee Orpingtons, down to the dinky little buff and gold laced Wyandottes. There are some little brown hens who were saved from becoming Oxo cubes, and they still thank me on a daily basis for saving their feathery selves from such an ignominious end.
