Keeping Up With My Kids Ltd

Keeping Up With My Kids Ltd

PO Box 340, Bexleyheath ,
Hello, and thanks for your interest in Keeping Up With My Kids. My name is Claire Coles and I am the author of courses for parents of Primary School children. If you watched the video on my web site you will know my passion, as a qualified and 15 years experienced Primary School Teacher, for strong parental in involvement in a child’s education. I have turned that passion into courses that I know will help you, to help your child, be the best they can be at school. The courses are aimed at Parents and Guardians of children in what is known as “Key Stage 2” of the National Curriculum. This is generally children in school years 3 to 6, who will typically be aged from rising 7, to 11 years old. A child’s first, and possibly best, teacher is their mother or father (or other prime carer). Their schooling is something parents MUST get involved with if you want them to be the best they can be. Do not leave it to the school teachers alone – your role is vital. Learning to read, write and spell, together with general speaking and listening skills, are called Literacy in Primary School. You may have called it “English” when you were at school. Learning about numbers and their use is called Numeracy, or Mathematics as you may have called it. Both subjects are very important for your child’s future, and a good foundation now will be an asset through their school life, right up to GCSE level.

Tweenies Pre-school

Tweenies Pre-school

At Tweenies Pre-school we plan and provide activities which include both child initiated and adult supported learning. To support the children’s learning we ensure that all our activities are suited to meet their needs. We implement the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS). This guidance ensures that children from birth to five years are able to reach their full potential in seven areas of learning; these are split into prime areas and specific areas. Children in the early years foundation stage learn through play, by exploring, using critical thinking and by being active and creative which takes place both indoors and outdoors. The premises consist of a large hall with a secure covered outside area where children can experience and explore outdoor activities. We also have a foyer where parents are able to leave their pushchairs during the sessions if they wish. Please note that we accept children who are still in nappies/ pull-ups. We have baby changing facilities but do ask that parents provide a spare nappy in the child’s book bag. During each session, children have access to milk or water and fresh fruit. We also welcome items from home for our show and tell in conjunction with our latest theme and letter of the week. Children may also bring in special items of interest to share with the group. We regularly take part in fundraising events for charities such as the NSPCC, Barnardo’s, Childline, Tommy’s, British Heart Foundation and Action for Medical Research. Occasionally (with parental permission) children are taken on local outings to places such as Central library, Pets at Home in Crayford and Asda supermarket. Tweenies Pre-school is open from Monday – Friday 9.15am-12.15pm for 38 weeks per year during term time. In addition to term time opening hours, we hold a summer club during the school holidays for 1-2 weeks.
