ABOUT THE HAIR EXTENSIONS WE OFFER AT FUNKY DIVAS HAIR STUDIO
We use the finest human grade AAA Russian Remy hair, this hair is cuticle to tip correct, this means all our hair has been carefully sorted to ensure cuticles remain attached & are all facing the same direction, this is crucial as it prevents tangling, matting & will allow your hair to be manageable & easily styled. It can be treated just like your own, coloured, cut, styled with irons or tongs.
MICRO RING HAIR EXTENSIONS
These extensions are great for people on a budget. They offer one of the safest & natural looking ways to attach hair extensions to your hair. There is minimal damage caused to your natural hair such as hair loss or thinning when wearing micro ring extensions providing they are cared for & maintained correctly. This is because no heat, sewing or glue is used to install or harsh chemicals to remove them.
Micro rings are the most natural & undetectable hair extension systems, the installation & removal system is one of the easiest on the market.
The technique used is a strand by strand method where human hair extensions are threaded & attached to small sections of your natural hair with a small metal & silicone tube - a micro ring. The rings are clamped securely in place & will not slip out, even during the most challenging activities!! Anyone allergic to metal will not be suitable for this system.
This method allows your hair to look and feel natural, increases volume, length or add colour, we can achieve this safely & efficiently.
These can last up to 3 months before they need replacing but we recommend a maintenance appointment after 4-6wks to reposition the bonds.
The hair can be washed, blow dried and styled just like your own & providing you care for it, it should last for almost a year.
If you are going on a hot holiday, using a sauna, steam room or swimming then we would recommend the micro ring system.
Removal is quick and easy & will leave your hair in perfectly good condition.
MICRO FUSION KERATIN BONDS
These extensions are great for fine/weaker hair. This method is the most widely used and long lasting method. The bonding resin that we use is keratin based which is a natural protein that won’t break your hair shaft. It is gentle to your hair & easily removable unlike other types that tend to be silicone based. Silicone glue is difficult to remove and can damage your own hair - hence why hair extensions get a bad reputation!!
The pre tipped bonds are applied to a small section of your hair melting the tip onto your natural hair using a hot wand which forms the secured bond.
You can straighten, curl & brush your extensions & depending on your natural hair growth your extensions should last 3-4mths, sometimes longer if maintenance and after care is kept up.
SHRINKIES
These extensions are a mixture of the fusion & micro ring application and are great for first timers, clients with fine or fragile hair would benefit enormously from Shrinkies as they add features your natural hair may not have yet or brides as they are less visible and only last about 2 months max. No heat can be used near the roots as they will loosen and a cool rinse when shampooing is advisable.
With shrinkies there is no tension or stretching involved during the installation or removal process. No hot glues are used at any time, the bonds just literally shrink around your natural hair and the extensions & the keratin coating inside the tube stops any movement of the bond.
The shrinkies are a plastic transparent tube with a keratin coating inside. A section of your hair is inserted into the tube, then a pre tipped extension is inserted alongside it. The tube is shrink wrapped around both the extension and your natural hair using a hot wand which creates a secure almost invisible bond.
Removal is simple using the hot wand to re melt the shrinkie and the extension hair is slowly pulled away.
Shrinkies are one of the safest & most comfortable short term systems available today.
