Damory Veterinary Clinic Small Animal department employs five full time vets with varying and complementary interests to offer first rate care to our companion animals. In addition to offering a caring and compassionate approach to routine veterinary care our vets have undertaken higher studies in surgery, diagnostic imaging, exotic animal medicine and complementary medicine in order to provide a better standard of care. We have a close relationship with the largest local animal sanctuary, Margaret Green Animal Rescue, and also assist in the veterinary care at Monkey World primate care centre. We have an appointment only system with evening appointments on Tuesdays to Thursdays to accommodate our clients’ working hours. We provide all our own emergency care and the surgery is staffed 24 hours a day to provide optimal care for in-patients. Our vets are ably supported by a team of seven qualified nurses and the practice operates as a training centre for veterinary nurses.

I am a qualified Laser Lipo therapist and am fully insured. How it works The Laser Lipo is a low level laser energy, which penetrates the skin to a depth just deep enough to reach the subcutaneous fat layer. The membranes of the fat cells are disturbed and develop tiny holes releasing the contents into the space between the fat cells. The contents of the fat cells (Fatty Acids, Triglycerides and water) spill out from the broken cell membranes and are released. This mechanism of action is not “liquefaction of fat”, it is the instant emptying out of the cells rather than the destruction of them. (referred to as lipolysis). The intra-cellular fat causes the cell to lose its round shape by changing the structure of the cell membrane. This does not affect the neighbouring structures such as skin, blood vessels or nerves. You undertake some form of (preferably cardio vascular) exercise to raise your heart rate, therefore increase your metabolic rate. Your body will use the fuel available in your blood stream, which includes the Fatty Acids and Triglycerides released by the Laser Lipo treatments. Once the “fuel” in the bloodstream has been used up, your Liver will begin to target the remaining fat deposits (starting with those most easily broken down - the treated areas) for further “fuel”. Therefore, the more exercise you undertake between treatments, the better your results will be! Laser Lipo is a fantastic means of “reminding” your body about those long dormant fat deposits that no amount of exercise seems to be able to target. I work out of my home in Blandford Forum (Dorset). I am also a stay at home mum , therefore will have my little boy here with me. I wish to target those mums, like me, who wish to shed the fat but are unable to go to the gym (as there is no creche) and can't find the extra hours in the week to exercise. Each “treatment” session comprises of up to 30 minutes Laser Lipo application, followed by 10 minutes on a vibration plate exercise machine (optional, but free at the end of each session) to increase your metabolic rate and maximise the effectiveness of your treatments. I have an introductory price of £25 for new clients for initial visit after that it will be £50 per treatment but I will do special offers for clients that book 6 & 8 treatment bundles. Conner Wellard: Conner has also just finished studying public services at the same college as Jack, he also won a very good award. Conner is hoping to eventually join the Royal Marines and is very fit himself. Him and Jack are very enthusiastic and both highly qualified to help you reach your goals!
