We are a small family business producing free range pork that has the traditional flavour that has now been replaced by the pale tasteless pork that is available in our supermarkets. We take pleasure in giving our pigs a natural and happy life outside digging until their hearts are content, in return they give us delicious tasting pork, bacon and sausages. We keep pedigree Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs for pork but we always have young pigs for sale and a Boar for Hire.

Everything is hand made and home baked individually to order by me, with an emphasis on freshness and quality. Cakes available include (but are not limited to): vanilla sponge, chocolate sponge, decadent chocolate fudge cake (particularly popular!), lemon, ginger, fruit cake and chocolate fruit cake (for those more fond of chocolate than fruit!) All cakes are also available in gluten free versions, just let me know when ordering. *Please Note: Cakes do not contain nuts (unless specified) but they are produced in an environment where nuts are present therefore they may not be suitable for those with severe nut allergies. The Salisbury Sausage Shop will be selling the finest locally home made produce including over 70 different varieties of Sausages, Over 20 flavours of Burgers, and a wonderful assortment of creative meats including Coated Chicken Fillets, Pork Ribs, Pork Chops, Koftas and much more.

The Hotel consists of 20 bedrooms and is located in the heart of Salisbury, just a few minutes’ walk from the Salisbury Cathedral, shops, restaurants and local attractions. We are just 20 minutes’ drive from Stonehenge and the rolling countryside of Wiltshire, with all its historical gardens, houses and walkways. All of this makes us a great tourist destination. We are also a great business stop-over as we are located 5 minutes from the Salisbury train station, 40 minutes from Bournemouth or Southampton airport/docks and 50 minutes from Portsmouth harbour. Sundays and throughout the week, we offer a quiet, relaxed environment. At the weekend, the very busy bar on the ground floor is open until 2am and offers DJ entertainment and is part of the Salisbury nightclub circuit. You will hear bar or street noise in some of the hotels rooms at weekends. Please make sure you book for the right experience, weekdays quiet and relaxed, weekends lively, busy and possibly noisy until 2.30am. The hotels bedrooms do not have telephones or air conditioning, however, they have been fully refurbished in a contemporary style and offer lots of extras you would not expect from accommodation with a hotels rating of 2 star, -free wifi, 22-inch flat-screen TVs with Freeview, plentiful tea, coffee and hot chocolate supplies. All bedrooms are accessible via stairs or an original wood-panelled passenger lift. All rooms have ironing boards, hairdryers, ceiling fans, a small safe and a high standard of towelling and linen. There are heated towel rails in all bathrooms. Parking is just two minutes away at pay and display car parks. (Loading bay at the hotels entrance for check in/out.) We have a selection of adjoining rooms to suit families or groups, along with a selection of double rooms with king sized beds or single rooms. Our bedrooms are all very comfortable to relax in, after a stroll around the historic City of Salisbury or after dining in our restaurant. You can enjoy breakfast from 7.30am until 10am Monday to Saturday and from 8am until 10am on Sunday. Food is available all day until late, with a range of traditional English fare including locally sourced steaks, burgers, homemade pies and great fish and chips.

Our cake story Many people ask "Where does the name come from?" Annette started making cakes for her son during his gap year commission and continued when he went to University. Whilst there his friends were always asking for more cakes from "Mumma Stanford". This continued when he left University to start his regular course at Sandhurst. The cakes were a morale booster throughout the year, in particular her "Gaza Biscuit" - baked specially for his platoon which was part of Gaza Company. On their commissioning day they even arranged a special photograph to commemorate the cakes. We also supply cakes to a local coffee house which has been rated in top 3 on trip advisor!!
