The Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes (PGDD) is a part-time, distance learning course, based on the International Diabetes Federation curriculum. It consists of 2 days of introductory lectures in various locations across the globe, followed by an online modular programme. The principle aim of the PGDD is to provide high-quality diabetes education for doctors with a specialist interest in diabetes. This 2-year course is delivered online by internationally renowned healthcare professionals who have extensive knowledge of diabetes, diabetic complications and related topics. Throughout the course, diabetes and students are encouraged to actively participate in the online activities and to demonstrate their critical thinking and clinical understanding. The PGDD was established in 2007 and provides a recognised university based qualification, using up-to-date teaching and assessment methods and gives access to diabetes education for healthcare professionals all over the world.
Conserving Local Communities Heritage

Conserving Local Communities Heritage

The CLOCH project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of the 'Skills for the Future' programme. CLOCH is a partnership project, lead by Glamorgan Archives, bringing together libraries, archives and museums across South Wales to offer 16 work-based traineeships over three years. The traineeships are available to local unemployed young men - providing an opportunity to gain skills and experience in a sector where they are under-represented. Each cohort of trainees will start with a three month induction at Glamorgan Archives (the first cohort of trainees started in January 2012), followed by a range of placements in partner libraries, archives or museums. Throughout the year, the trainees will be working towards the Level 2 Certificate in Libraries, Archives and Information Services (via Coleg Llandrillo Cymru). The trainees will be focusing on four core skills: - digitisation - community engagment - research and local history - conservation and collections management
