Chertsey is a town in Surrey, England, on the River Thames and its tributary rivers such as the River Bourne. It can be accessed by road from junction 11 of the M25 London orbital motorway. It shares borders with Staines, Laleham, Shepperton, Addlestone, Woking, Thorpe and Egham. It lies some 29k.m southwest of central London, close to the M3 and the M25.
Chertsey has a business district where the head offices of some world wide companies are situated The town is home to the head office of Compass Group, one of the largest catering companies in the world. The entrance and car parks to Thorpe Park are in Chertsey, although parts of the theme park, including some rides, are actually in Egham. As the entrance is in Staines Road, Chertsey, the address of Thorpe Park is therefore Chertsey.
Chertsey is also home to quite a few "celebs" from different decades and are familiar in the town. Chertsey has also a long standing connection with the film industry. The town appears regularly as scenery locations for many tv programs and also boasts its connection with the 1969 film "The Italian Job" as well as being a town of historic interest.
