Counselling for Health & Wellbeing
My name is Rachel Durrant and I completed my three year degree course in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at Roehampton University initially working with young people and women who had experienced domestic violence. Since then I have undertaken a range of further training in working with children and adolescents and continue to work with children who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in primary education.
People are unique individuals with different skills and resources to help them cope with what life brings. As such, I find that by working integratively (which means that I draw on different theories person centred, existential and psychodynamic) I am able to adapt my work to suit you and your individual needs. My work can be short term (6-8 weeks) or long term but however long we work together, I am here to support you on your journey to understanding your self.
I am a Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and I abide by their Code of Ethics in my work. If you would like to know more about the different forms of therapy please go to www.bacp.co.uk
What is Counselling?
Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed with life and it can help to unravel our feelings by talking to someone who will listen without judgment, so that you may feel empowered to regain some control in your life. However, the thought of talking to a stranger about thoughts and feelings that are most precious can seem daunting. Many people find that the experience of working with someone who is able to support you on your journey by providing a safe, confidential and non judgemental space in which to talk freely can be very helpful.
Sometimes, even life changing.
Counselling is considered a ‘talking therapy’ and can help with a range of issues including: anxiety, stress, loss, bereavement, abuse, trauma, self esteem, depression, behaviour, relationships, careers, family problems plus many more.
What is worrying you today? Might it help you to talk?
Fees £40 per 50 mins session, Initial session £25
