Our facilities are fully ISO 9000:2000 accredited and we use the latest software controlled Rework Stations to ensure accurate profile settings for the most complex reworks.Retronix offers a fast turnaround and cost effective service for PCB rework & repair. We can perform BGA reworks including lead free, ceramic BGAs and column grid array. Using IC Rescue, our unique service with which we can safely remove a misplaced BGA, reball it using laser technology, then place it back on the PCB correctly. Our services include: Pad & Track Repair/Laminate Repair Rework/Engineering Change Notices Component Level Debug Inspection/Verification Alloy Conversion / Re-Tin We provide automated component re-tinning and employ unique Etchback technology to allow chemical stripping of the SAC or SnPb alloy coating. We use different techniques for certain types of component. For BGAs, we use our unique reballing process to remove spheres and replace them with the correct alloy spheres. You can view our BGA reballing process here. For all components with leads, from QFP & SOIC to PTH sockets and caps, we offer a fully automatic retinning process that is compliant with the GEIA standard. We can carry out lead to lead free conversion, and vice versa, or simply re-tinning of the existing alloy. Retronix have invested in the latest automated technology to ensure that our processes do not expose the components to reflow cycles or abrasion. They are completely safe and repeatable and comply with GEIA-STD-006 standard. IC Testing Retronix offers a range of tests to accurately identify pulled, faulty or counterfeit components. We offer: 1. Visual Inspection - By utilising optical inspection and visual inspection techniques, Retronix can confirm that your recovered components are in good condition. 2. XRF Analysis (RoHS Testing) - Our XRF analysis facility provides a non-destructive method to determine what alloy a termination consists of. 3. Solderability Test - Our solderability test verifies whether a component is re-solderable or not and if it is ready to be placed onto your PCBs for reflow. 4. Electrical Testing (Curve Trace) - This is a very strong tool which allows Retronix to confirm that the recovered devices are in good working condition. 5. Key Function Test - Some devices may need to be tested by creating a circuit to ensure that they are operating as expected. 6. Flash Memory Test/Memory Programming - With recent investment; Retronix can not only program your components but also use our programmers to check for counterfeit programmable BGA/QFP Recovery Every day millions of dollars of brand new components are scrapped by manufacturers because they are attached to faulty PCBs. If these components could be safely reused, these companies would save huge amounts of money in recovered scrap, provide much needed “allocated” components and also reduce the amount and cost of landfill. An added bonus is that it would also seriously damage the counterfeit industry, whose raw material supply would be reduced. Retronix offers the only safe IC recovery process on the market. We can remove and refurbish your components using no reflow cycles and no abrasive processes - and each part of our process is fully controlled and repeatable. BGA Reballing Key to Retronix’s unique component recovery process, IC Rescue, is its reballing method. While others use a mass reflow of placed spheres thru a reflow oven, Retronix attached each sphere individually to the pad using a laser. This laser generates negligible heat during this process, allowing Retronix to offer a process without any reflow cycles, which is a huge advantage.Component manufacturers specify NO MORE THAN 3 REFLOW CYCLES for their components, so this laser process allows Retronix to meet this specification on it’s refurbishment of components programme. Each sphere is individually reflowed, generating zero thermal stress Normal reballing process involves a full reflow cycle Laser reballing is carried out in a nitrogen atmosphere Process is carried out in a cleanroom environment Process is totally repeatable, and contains no risk in terms of component damage thru thermal stress This involved a huge investment in process capability, but it has allowed Retronix to become the world’s no.1 component recovery company. Skilled Labour Supply Retronix labour supply is a service we have been supplying to the PCBA & repair industry for 20 years. We can assess the requirements of each project, and supply the correct balanced team to take care of your issue, whether it’s debugging and repairing a build up of failed PCBs on a production line, to supplying additional staff to deal with peaks in production. Our clients include all of the major CEM worldwide, as well as many of the world’s major OEMs. facilities to provide PCB rework & repair service
