Last Hire at 4pm* We are a not-for-profit attraction run by the Lake District National Park Authority. All profits go towards keeping it special for future generations.

Each year powerboats of all sizes, of all classes from around the UK gather at Coniston Water for the annual Coniston Power Boat Records Week. Drivers from 8 years old take turns on the water to attempt to break the British and World water speed record in their class. The annual Coniston Power Boat Records Week is the only event in the Powerboat Racing Calendar to bring together all classes of powerboat. Entry to this prestigious event is open to all from tiny hydroplanes, through circuit racers to the largest offshore boats. Records Week marks the finale to the British racing season with competitors and officials from all over the country assembling for what has been a popular event since its inception in 1970.

The village has five pubs all serving bar snacks and meals, there are two or three cafes and a Co-op, Spar and local general store stock a good range of supplies.

Miner's cottage has recently undergone substantial renovation, and has been lovingly restored to show many original features. The cottage is spacious and presented to a very high standard, ensuring that guests have a thoroughly enjoyable stay all year round. A cool and charming cottage in Summer, and warm and cosy in Winter with a log burning stove.
