Merryfields Barn
Located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, in the peaceful hamlet of Ffawyddog (meaning 'beech grove'), with stunning views of nearby Crickhowell, Llangattock, the River Usk and the Black Mountains (including the Sugar Loaf and Table Mountain), Merryfields Barn (www.merryfieldsbarn.co.uk) is a beautiful, luxurious holiday cottage built to a high specification in 2009.
Merryfields Barn has oak beams, doors and floors upstairs and a limestone floor with under-floor heating throughout downstairs. The property has two bedrooms (one with a king size bed, the other with two single beds), both with fabulous views of the surrounding area. There's a Japanese square bath and a modern, walk-in shower/wet room. The oak kitchen is fully equipped and the utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer.
At the rear of the barn, French doors open onto a large, private patio area with garden furniture and a barbecue. The adjoining paddock has a small stream and there are wonderful views of Llangattock escarpment, with its huge cave network. To the front is a fruit orchard and a large lawned area with mature trees. There's also a fenced dog-exercise area to the rear and parking for at least 3 cars.
