FAQ's for teeth whitening
Q: Does teeth whitening really work?
A: Of course it does! The surface of the teeth contains millions of microscopic pores, and over the years, organic com-pounds from food, fizzy drinks, tea, coffee or tobacco penetrate these pores causing discolouration of the enamel.
Q: How does our technique compare to other whitening techniques?
A: We offer the most advanced technology available in teeth whitening. Clinical studies have proven our whitening gels whiten an average of 8+shades in 1 hour. Compare this to a leading tray system, which achieved only 6 shades in 2/3 weeks. In fact many tray users never achieve more than a few shades, as it is difficult to complete the program-night after night sleeping with trays full of bleaching gel, often accompanied by sensitivity and gum irritation. As you can see our solution is tremendous value by comparison. Incidentally, the same study showed that a leading whitening tooth-paste was only able to achieve 1.5 shades of improvement after an entire month of use.
Q: Does Laser Teeth Whitening work on veneers, crowns, bridges and fillings?
A: The SmilesBrighter process will not whiten crowns, veneers, bridges or fillings. However they will be restored to their original colour.
Q: Does Laser Teeth Whitening damage the enamel of the teeth?
A: Extensive research shows that there is no risk to the enamel of the teeth after having the laser teeth whitening treat-ment. It is 100% safe.
Q: How does it work?
A: The tooth whitening technician will first examine your teeth and gums for good oral health. Next as you relax in the chair our unique whitening gel is applied to your teeth and the revolutionary L.E.D light will be positioned over your teeth to activate the gel. As you listen to some music, your teeth will lighten and your natural whiteness will be restored in just 1 hour through a completely safe process of oxidation. Through our unique chemistry and revolutionary blue wavelength light, a process that used to take many hours can now be accomplished in just 1 hour.
Q: Is it safe and will it hurt?
A: The procedure is completely safe. The SmilesBrighter procedure will not damage enamel or existing fillings. The majority of our clients experience no pain or sensitivity after our treatment. A very small percentage of clients may ex-perience minor sensitivity after the procedure, if you generally suffer from sensitive teeth we strongly recommend the purchase of our unique remineralizing gel which virtually eliminates sensitivity. Q: How white will my teeth get?
A: In clinical testing, SmilesBrighter has been able to achieve an average of 8+ shades whiter. Your results of course will vary as your starting point may be different and everyone’s teeth respond a little differently, but in virtually all cases, the results are dramatic , up to 10 shades brighter (average 8). Ultimately, The goal is to achieve your optimum, natural whiteness. During the consultation, our whitening technician will personally analyse your teeth and provide you with a customized recommendation.
Q: How long will it last?
A: The long term results depend primarily on the individual. Certain habits, such as smoking, the consumption of a lot of coffee, tea or dark soft drinks and infrequent visits to the dentist, can work against the results. Regular professional care and the use of SmilesBrighter Home Kits can help maintain your whiteness for 1-2 years. Some people after they see the results choose to do our treatment more frequently.
Q: Is this procedure for everyone?
A: Virtually anyone wanting to whiten their teeth will benefit from using SmilesBrighter- including people with severe food, coffee, tobacco or tetracycline stains. Young adults 16 years of age and older are great candidates for the proce-dure, especially those that have heavy staining after orthodontic treatment is complete and their braces are removed.
SmilesBrighter recommends you do not avail of our treatment while nursing or pregnant or receiving orthodontic treatment.
