Downsview Butchers
Richard and Margaret Brown have been farming on the South Downs near Willingdon for over 30 years. Together with their son Henry their aim is to produce great tasting beef and lamb from their organic farm in a way that helps to protect the environment and wildlife.
Their herd of Sussex and Angus cattle and flock of ewes eat only home-grown grass and silage. The ancient, herbacious swards of their downland farm on which the animals graze only adds to the quality and flavour of the meat.
The beef and lamb is sold in the village of Willingdon, from our own shop in Freshwater Square, and from a few other selected outlets.
Our family run shop 'Downsview Butchers' is run by Richard Brown and resident butcher Steve Robertson.
As a traditional butchers shop we sell all the classic cuts of beef, lamb, pork and chicken as well as the latest in modern, quick cook ingredients. We prepare everything ourselves, from individual portions to celebration sized joints and are always happy to discuss special orders.
We make all our own sausages and burgers and we are licensed to sell all types of Game.
We also sell excellent free range turkeys which may be relied upon to crown the Christmas festivities.
