As an unsigned artist myself, I find, it is very important to use all the platforms available to us as artists to market ourselves. With the new face of the music industry going digital by way of the internet, I believe it is important that we don't rely on this to grant us a career in music. It is easy to get lost in the vast scape the internet offers. This is why live shows are so important to artists to get their music heard and build a fan base. The record labels and fans need to be sure that the artist can, in fact, do what they do on their recordings, video and audio.
So we have decided to create an event for new and unsigned artists to show their talent. What makes this different to an open mic night at a local pub is that the artists here have auditioned for the spots in the line up. We want to make sure the fans get what they deserve and the representatives from the record labels get a quality display of the artists capability.
If this goes well, we intend on having more events on a regular basis to offer more talented individuals the stage, opportunities, and grow their fan base.
