Relay for Life Evesham
Lets start this by saying a huge thank you to everyone that helped in anyway with the relay for life in 2010. Collectively, 30 teams raised a huge £66,263.28, not bad, eh! So if you were to get involved, how much could we raise in 2011?
The relay for life is a 24 hour walking relay to raise money for cancer research. If you want to get involved, leave us a message, of if you are ready to get going, enter a team online at : http://www.relayforlifeevesham.info/!
Its simple, you elect a captain and start a team, we will keep your captain notified of all of the events and timings of the event itself. On the day, you have your campsite set up, and as a team you will walk for 24 hours! from noon on Saturday to noon on Sunday. You can have as many people out there as you like, we dont suggest you all try and do it at the same time!
Please remember, that having a team for relay isnt just about the walk itself, thats just finale! In the lead-up to the relay as a team you will need to raise as much money as you can. For fundraising ideas, send your captain along to one of our captains meetings and all will become clear. There are lots of ways of raising money and all of the teams work together. Although there is a little bit of competition on who can raise the most!
The event is held at Evesham High School and the relay itself is held on the large astro-turf with the campsite right beside. There will be music, entertainment, games, food and general good fun to be had, I mean who can honestly say that they have had the Incredible Hulk jogging past Dick Dastardly followed close behind by Mr and Mrs. Incredible!
If you've never been to relay before it really is an experience and remember, together, we will beat cancer.
