Entries are now being taken for the popular 2013 Fleetwood Bowls Festival which takes place as usual in the last week of July. The entry fee for both the £2,840 men’s and ladies’ singles competitions remains at £8 and qualifying is on Monday 22 July. Bowlers can choose their start time of 9.45 am or 1.30 pm by making it clear on the entry form which session they prefer. Greens in the Marine Gardens, Memorial Park and Fleetwood Bowling Club are being used for the qualifying rounds. The last 32 in each competition will play off on Thursday (men at 9.45 am, ladies at 1.30 pm). Finals day is Friday. The Ladies and Men’s Singles winners are expected to qualify for the Champion of Champions at The Waterloo in September. There will also be mixed doubles, a junior’s event and Fleetwood Shield competitions for ladies and men. Qualifying rounds for the latter will be held on Tuesday (9.45 am or 1.30 pm) and will be open to all bowlers who have entered the main competitions.
