An Edwardian school opened in 1912 by Sir George Doughty and his wife Lady Doughty. Originally called Strand Council School, built to provide education for the children of the East Marsh. There is still to this day a roof playground and lots of the original features still remain.

Play is the focus of the nursery and through this we are able to offer opportunities which will absorb your child into learning and thus giving them sense of achievement which will increase their self esteem and confidence. We make all children feel special and acknowledge their achievements which will help them develop a positive sense of themselves and others. Practitioners act as roles models who value differences and take account of different needs and expectations. They offer warm and caring attachments within key worker groups and build constructive relationships with parents/carers.
