You can relax in our armchairs by the cosy open fire at one end of the bar and a log burner at the other. Our capable team are able to cater for your every requirement. From a relaxing lunch to a canapé event, Christening and party for anyone we can tailor a menu for your needs. We have regular coffee mornings for which we provide high quality teas and coffees from our Lavazza machine. Outside we have a large playground with swings, playframe and ample seating, all of which is securely fenced in. Our 5 aside football pitch is available for all our customers for a kick about or local tournament. Again this is fenced in for everyones safety. We have an outside kiosk for summer use and a bbq area surrounding our large Jumbrella feature on our patio. Our small outside bar caters for our many events which take place on our fields. Both old and young camp on our fields. We have adequate toilet facilities and freshwater supplies for these outdoor guests. Every year we are visited by the TWITS and AMPS who meet from UK wide and camp in our fields. We have catered for Marquee based parties and receptions. This year we hope to obtain a wedding licence. We have a large car park and overflow car park for your convenience. Hot air balloons have flown from our back fields for many years and we are locally know as "the ballooning pub". The Balloons can been seen in the skies travelling along the Misbourne Valley. This is a regular event in the seasonal summer months. Great Missenden is a delightful and picturesque Buckinghamshire village along the Misbourne Valley set in the beautiful Chiltern Hills. Great Missenden adjoins Little Missenden and Prestwood and is located between historic Wendover and Amersham. The quaint narrow high street is home to many local boutiques and country shops. The village is best known as the home to the late author, Roald Dahl, the internationally famous children's author. The Famous Roald Dahl Museum is a very worthwhile and memorable visit - why not follow this with lunch at the Black Horse Pub.

The school has approximately 1,225 pupils.HistoryThe Misbourne was the first purpose-built secondary modern school in the country. The first pupils started at the school on 19 December 1955, although it did not officially open until 20 January 1956. Originally there were only twenty-five students.The school celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2005/6. The celebrations culminated in a Jubilee summer fête in June 2006 which was attended by Cherie Blair.In 2006 it was reported that the Misbourne School was heavily in debt. The school bursar said she hoped the debt would be cleared within a year.The Misbourne School was the friendliest school in Britain in 2005, according to a report from Friends Reunited.The Misbourne celebrated the first MizFest on 9 July 2012 students took part in music and drama performances, a fashion show, workshops for all ages - including fashion, cake baking, trampolining and Taiko drumming - and there was also a performance by the community choir.Academic PerformanceThe Misbourne is building a strong local reputation for academic achievement improving its 5 A*-C GCSE performance from 71% in 2010. to 72% in 2011, placing the school in the top four upper schools in Buckinghamshire, to its highest ever result of 86% in 2012.
