The Guildford Embroidery
This embroidery measures some 3 meters by 1 meter, depicting the town of Guildford with most of the eminent buildings and features. Each part is hand stitched by local embroiderers, who are using a variety of techniques, and some machine work.
This wallhanging was created and funded by Kristina Graham and Rhoda Nevins, with some additional funding by the local parishes of Guildford. It is hoped to be concluded in 2012 or thereabouts, to hang in a central prominent building in the town centre, for to enjoy, and to commemorate mot only the fabulous town, but also the 450th anniversary of George Abott, the Queens Diamond Jubilee, and the 2012 Olympics!
