Blyford Queens Head
The Queen’s Head at Blyford is run by Marie and Lee Knight, and is situated in the beautiful Blyth Valley, about 3 miles south of the town of Halesworth. The Parish Church of All Saints is the pub’s nearest neighbour which dates from 1088.
The pub was built sometime between the 14th and 15th Centuries, and many of the original features can be seen inside this fine building. The Queen’s Head boasts a beautiful thatched roof, reflecting the living reeds growing in the river valley beyond.
Today, Lee and Marie run this traditional pub with a modern outlook. Lee has spent several years as a Head Chef, and his cooking is based on locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients. You’ll find the classic pub dishes on the menu, as well as daily specials using ingredients freshly bought that day.
With a large beer garden and plenty of green space surrounding the pub, it’s ideal for relaxing outside on a warm day. In the winter, a log fire will keep everyone warm and cosy.
Children are very welcome at this family-friendly pub. Lee and Marie have a young son, Freddie, so they know how to cater for the tastes of little ones.
