Situated on the "Old" London Road, this house used to be on the main Brighton to London road until a new bypass relieved this lovely village of constant traffic. Nowadays, the "Duke" is at the heart of Sayers Common, an area named after a local hero, one Tom Sayer, a well renowned bare knuckle fighter!
The Duke offers fabulous homecooked pub clasics with a modern twist using fresh and local ingredients. In addition the wide range of local real ales is constantly changing in this true "free house", and along with an extensive wine list to enjoy with your lunch or dinner. The pub also boast two beer gardens, one for families with a fabulous Childrens' Play Fort and another for our four legged friends.

Sayers Common is ideally situated for visitors to the South Downs with many local places of interest to visit, including Hickstead show jumping ground just a few minutes up the road. Brighton and Hove are a 10 minute drive away and the historic County Town of Lewes is just 15 minutes drive through some of the prettiest countryside in Sussex.
