Our philosophy is to ensure safety and water confidence, encouraging parents to fully utilise the benefits and enjoyment they can have swimming with their children, whether at classes, on holiday or trips to the local pool. As well as safety and water confidence, your baby will benefit from building strength, coordination and cardiovascular exercise. Our classes are great fun for parents too and can be a good way to meet like-minded friends. Swimbabes has been established since 2003 and swims more than 1,600 baby swimmers each week, building on your baby’s natural affinity to water & reflexes.

NEWBORN Without a doubt, newborns are one of our favorite ages to photograph. We consider it an honor to capture those early days of your new babies life. The little fingers and toes, the wispy hair and the perfect little sleepy faces, our style highlights the beautiful features that define your baby. We combine both our photographic talent and our ability to gently pose and light newborn subjects to create beautiful, gentle and unique portraits that will be cherished for a life time. Newborns should be photographed between birth and three weeks of age if possible. During this time they retain some of the natural curl from before they were born. They are also more sleepy and flexible, so we are able to achieve the most beautiful poses. We recommend you book an appointment while you are still pregnant, we can always adjust the time if needed when baby arrives. Every session is unique to your child. Newborn sessions are slow paced with lots of feeding and soothing. It's not unusual for a newborn session to take upwards of 3 hours, however, we are usually able to capture enough images and complete the session in about 2 hours. CHILDREN Children are so much fun. The session may be a little crazy, because it isn't always in their nature to sit still and "pose". We like to give your kids the time and space needed to be able to create the perfect images. There is no rush, they are free to play and explore. Often the best shots are taken when we are messing about and playing games. Whether the session takes place in our studio or outside using one of many fantastic locations around the Holme Valley our aim is to create unique portraits that will be treasured for a life time. TEENS Individual, different, moody and totally unique! our teen portraits are just like your teenagers. Each session is unique to the sitter, we listen to what they and you want and create fantastic, moving images that reflect them at this time. So, if they have just become a teenager or are flying the nest on their way to collage, We will create images that you'll both love. FAMILY We want to capture the true sense of the moment in every image we create. Instead of stiff, regimented, one size fits all pictures. We want to create images that reflect each individuals personality, and say something about the relationships between the people in the portrait. A family portrait is ultimately about the people in it, and that it should capture who you are right now. Your portrait should be unique just like you and your family and that is what our images are all about : creating art that captures life. Woodlands Play Gym is a soft play centre in Meltham and covers all local areas including Holmfirth, Marsden and surrounding areas of Huddersfield. We specifically cater for children aged from birth to seven years. The play gym consists of a ball pool, slide and swing. A large selection of quality toys are also available including pushchairs and dolls, ride on toys, cars, trucks, a play house and various other toys and games. Woodlands also has a woodland themed café serving a variety of quality meals and snacks including a wide selection of sandwiches, jacket potatoes and a ‘specials’ board. A separate children’s menu is also available. Speciality coffee including filter, latte, mocha and cappuccinos are also available along with hot chocolate and a variety of fruit and herbal teas. A selection of freshly made cakes from Nichola's Gateaux and biscuits are also on offer. Children’s birthday parties are also catered for at Woodlands. Private parties can be booked for Saturdays at a time to suit yourselves. Parties are two hours with sole use of the play gym and equipment, party food, party bags and pass the parcel. Parties are priced at £7.00 per head with a minimum booking of 15 children. We also host a variety of children’s classes which are held throughout the week including:- Mini Olympians - £3.75 – Monday 10am Bongo Beats with Tracey - £2.50 – Tuesday 9.30am and 10.30am Little Squirrels Parent & Child Group - £1.00 - Wednesday 9.30am to 11.30am (with a free cup of tea or coffee) (NB - the cut off time for £1 entry is 11.00am) Mini Cheerleaders with Kath - £3.00 – Wednesday 10.30am Baby Beatz with Katherine - £4.00 - Thursday 10.00am Jazz Totz with Katherine - £4.00 – Thursday 10.30am Songbirds with Debbie - £4.00 - Thursday 4:00pm Baby Ballet with Miss Felicity - £10 for three introductory lessons – Friday 10am Woodlands also boasts a fully enclosed, well equiped outdoor area featuring a pirate ship, castle, climbing frame, tunnel and ride on toys. We pride ourselves on offering a safe and secure environment for your children to play along with facilities for parents in which you can watch your children in comfort. Private car parking is provided on site and our single level premise means you'll have no problems with fetching a pram/pushchair. There is plenty of storage space inside where you can leave these.
