Healthy eating can be a great benefit to your well-being. We are covered by the Scottish Borders Health and Safety Executive and have a full Environmental Health certificate. Our main supplier, Suma Wholefoods provides us with most of our nuts, seeds and pulses. Suma is the UK’s largest independent wholefood-distributor. Specialising in vegetarian, fairly traded, ethical and natural products, ethical trading was Suma’s starting point and is now woven into the fabric of their business. We stock a wide variety of wholefoods in store, including many items produced locally in the Scottish borders. We have a huge range of herbs, spices, nuts, seeds and pulses, cheeses, frozen goods etc. We have a good range of products for those following a gluten, wheat or dairy free diet. We meet on a Tuesday 9.45am til 11.15am and a Thursday 9.45am til 11.15am . We are open all year round apart from 2 weeks at Christmas time.

The fundamental aim of Active Schools is to offer children and young people the opportunities and motivation to adopt active, healthy lifestyles, now and into adulthood. These opportunities are available before, during and after school, as well as in the wider community. Active Schools also aims to introduce more physical activity into daily lives through sports, active travel, dance and play.

We have a large number of both adult and junior members and there are plenty of activities for members to get involved in. We have several teams who play in the Borders League including junior teams, two mens teams and three ladies teams.

Kelso Abbey is a ruined Scottish abbey founded in the 12th century by a community of Tironensian monks first brought to Scotland in the reign of Alexander I. It occupies ground overlooking the confluence of the Tweed and Teviot waters, the site of what was once the Royal Burgh of Roxburgh and the intended southern centre for the developing Scottish kingdom at that time. Kelso thus became the seat of a pre-eminently powerful abbacy in the heart of the Scottish Borders.
