Sins of Honey Jewellery
It started as a love of watches and watch parts. My ol' dad bought a box at a local auction, just for fun, it was labelled "Jewellery & Watches". Inside was a treasure trove of shiny things, ticking and broken things and i was hooked.
The good watches are sold on, they are too precious to break up. The knackered ones are taken apart and re-used in steampunk inspired jewellery (Steam Honey).
The jewellery in these boxes is often a real mish-mash and probably not from one source. It made sense to take out the nice things and sell them without alteration - i list these under Vintage Honey. The rest is upcycled, adding a lovely old brooch to a new neckchain or reworked and incorporated into something. Sometimes, if you're very lucky, a box o' stuff will contain a little curiosity, an eye glass, snuff tins, tiny padlocks and keys.........the rule is, if it's shiny or tiny, it's jewellery.
The resin stuff started with an idea for a kilt pin (Tartan Honey) and progressed to colouring resin with tattooing inks to produce hearts, stars and skulls (a personal obsession).
That's it, that's my story.....hope it has a happy ending x
