I am Shirley Brown Camblin a local artist and I share my home based Art studio every Friday and Saturday with budding little artists in my creative play workshops. I work with children 1~to~1 and in small groups aged 5 years and up, we focus on self expression, we learn to use our imaginations in a non judgemental atmosphere, there is no competition, we learn to share, encourage, and help each other to find potential in everything we do. We are allowed to be messy, to have fun and to try lots of different mediums not usually allowed at home :) , this teaches us to use our imaginations, to express ourselves, to be confident, to problem solve, to respect each others differences, to try new things, we learn that with art.. there are no rules :) My childrens 'Creative expressions' workshops came to life in the garage of my last home (The Garage Studio Lisburn) and it has been a complete pleasure watching things evolve over the past year. We have outgrown the Garage and are now based in Upper Ballinderry, not too far from town, we are now blessed with a lovely rural studio space. Complete with our resident studio pets Charlie the cockateil and Gizzy the Conure parrot and of course our chickens Paula and Ches. We have been gathering a collective of other Artists & Crafters keen to share their skills from our space. We will have workshops in Papercrafting, Textiles, Healing with art, Upcycling, Jewellry, handmade leather craft and more hosted by some really talented locals. Our aim is to bring all types of creative play to both adults and children alike, because we know how rewarding, healing, awakening, and relaxing opening up to your creative side can be.
