Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy is a bilingual co-educational comprehensive school in the town of Llanrwst in Conwy County Borough, North Wales. The school serves the community of Llanrwst and the many surrounding villages including the rural districts of Betws-y-Coed, Llangernyw and Cerrigydrudion. There are around 800 pupils currently enrolled in the school (783 at the last inspection, including 116 in the sixth form) and most of them are bilingual. The school has recently been moved onto one expanded site which had originally housed years 7-9 only. The site of the upper school (the oldest building and site of the original grammar school) is currently empty, and is being developed into an NHS centre.The current headmaster of the school is Mr Paul Goronwy Stanley Matthews-Jones. The deputy heads are Mr John Lloyd Roberts and Miss Elan Davies.The school was founded as Llanrwst Grammar School in 1610 by Sir John Wynn, which was situated in the building of the 'upper school'. In 1960 it was renamed Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy (Conwy Valley School) to reflect the fact that the school served the wider Conwy Valley. In February 2005 the pupils were all moved to the Sodexo-owned site on Nebo Road.ExaminationsThe school offers education for KS3, KS4 and Post-16 students. It offers GCSE, Entry Level examinations for KS4 and AS-level and A-level for Post-16 education. It is a Welsh Joint Education Committee accredited centre for presenting records of national achievement, using the WJEC as an examination board. This school was the first in Conwy to give Year 10 pupils a chance to get a qualification in Physical Education, without taking up the GCSE.

Conwy Rural Partnership and Conwy Local Action Group - together with the help of other organisations - work towards improving and enhancing the lives of people living and working in rural Conwy. Through things like community projects and training initiatives the groups encourage people to get together and develop a network of financially, socially, culturally and environmentally sustainable communities - and to make Conwy a more pleasant and prosperous place to live, work, and visit. This partnership is part funded through the Rural Development Plan which is financed by the EU and the Welsh Government.

We are a small, independent bicycle shop, nestled in the heart of the Snowdonia national park. With the Marin and Penmachno trail just a stones throw away, we are in the perfect spot to help you with any unforeseen problems. Situated in Denbigh Street, near the Town Square with free parking both at the front and rear and several free car parks nearby, we offer good wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks, specialist teas & coffee, scrumptious cakes & puddings and a delicious char-grill. We use local suppliers where possible. We can provide all-day breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks and picnic boxes or you can take away your chosen, freshly prepared, home cooked meal. With easy parking, wheelchair access, disabled wc and free wifi you can relax and refresh yourself at Llywelyns after enjoying Llanrwst's beautiful scenery in the foothills of the Snowdonia National Park. Bicycles and dogs are welcome in our rear courtyard garden.
