What We Know

What We Know

228 Bethnal Green Road, London ,
What we know theatre presents: Not much to go on Two men, two chairs and very little else. Not much to go on is a play, devised and performed by Chris Leaney and Roderick D. Morgan, telling the story of two Australians stranded in east London with about as much money as they have sense. The pair strive, fall, quarrel and laugh their way through the trials of city living whilst a hidden truth threatens to tear their friendship apart. The show is performed in a converted bedroom in an east end flat. This intimate setting makes booking essential. To reserve a seat simply visit notmuch.eventbrite.co.uk . There are no ticket sales but we will ask attendees to pay what they think it’s worth at the end of the night. Performance Dates: Friday 12th April Saturday 13th April Friday 19th April Saturday 20th April Directed by Anna Bond. With special thanks to Vanessa Barlow.
Sam Rose in the Shadows

Sam Rose in the Shadows

Richmix, 35-47 Bethnal Green Road, London ,
‘Sam Rose in the Shadows’ is Tucked In’s uplifting new play for children about what it is like to be sad and how one can learn to be happy again. The play is aimed at anyone aged 6+. Ivan Rose is a six-year-old boy. Shut away in his little house in the city under the watchful eye of his aging tutor, Greta Hollow, he fantasises about the outside world, which he knows nothing about. His father spends most of his time away, and Ivan can only imagine he is off fighting dragons and generally being a hero! Yet one day Ivan decides to break free of the confines of his little house and searches through the vast city to find out what his heroic father, Sam Rose, really does all day. When he finds Sam Rose he is dismayed. Instead of a hero he sees a hunched, sad man carrying a heavy box through the cracked, grey streets of the city. He is on a quest to unlock his box of sorrows and free himself from his sadness.
