Tucked away behind the Electric Ballroom and a stone's throw away from the Dev, Camden Rock is set to become your new saturday night fix for up-and-coming alternative bands. This new monthly Saturday night is brought to you by Phoenix Promotions, who already run blinding nights in Staines, Reading, Hounslow and Brighton - now they finally hit London's alternative stomping grounds - Camden! The Carshalton Comets are a junior basketball club based in Carshalton and the product of a grassroots coaching and mentoring initiative running for almost two decades. The project works with young people aged 5-18, both male and female. OUR APPROACH The Comets philosophy is rooted on simple but sound principles that aim to teach young people how to combine individual skill and responsibility in order to play and succeed as a team. As players learn how to work together towards a common goal, they gain valuable life skills and begin to understand how families and communities can function more effectively when united. MEMBERSHIP AND RATES Membership costs £30 and is paid annually. Non-Members pay a drop-in rate of £4.50 per session for 5-11 year olds and £5.50 per session for 12-18 year olds. Members pay a drop-in rate of £2.50 per session for 5-11 year olds and £3.50 for 12-18 year olds. Members keen to maximise their time on the court can pay monthly. Pay monthly members are offered up to 15 hours of court time per week. 5-11 year olds pay £17.50 per month. 12-18 year olds pay £22 per month.
