All cabinetry is manufactured in Danmar factory in Colchester where there is an overwhelming choice of materials and finishes available from rustic to ultra modern, solid timber to laminates. Danmar designers pay attention to every element of detail to ensure the highest quality results, unlike other manufacturers all units are designed so that the wood grain flows. Furthermore Martyn and the team can take care of every aspect themselves from project management through to knocking down walls and decorating.
The company was recently featured in Beautiful Kitchens magazine and Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms – showcasing two different kitchen solutions. As the following pictures show the bespoke kitchen designed to fit into the roundel of an oast house. Top priorities were to ensure the kitchen worked as a circular room enhancing the shape of the kitchen with they style of the cabinetry, plenty of storage without overhead cupboards and a sleek finish. The client was keen to avoid tall storage cabinets which might close in the spacious feeling of the room, by keeping all the cabinets at mid height, with the exception of two cabinets housing the single ovens, and balancing the appliances in pairs she managed to maintain a continual flow. The couple chose a smart Walnut finish with sleek stainless steel handles in a contemporary style teamed with cream painted display cabinets, a Walnut splash back further accentuates the shape of the room. Because the client loves cooking and enjoys entertaining she had a very specific list of requirements for her appliances, she and Martyn searched meticulously to source the most efficient combination of ovens and hobs. ‘Now that the kitchen has been redesigned it’s become the focal point of the house, we rarely use the dining room as everyone loves to gather in this room, it works perfectly when we have guests, there is a place for everyone to feel comfortable and more importantly I can really enjoy cooking now everything flows and is finally in the right place.’ Says the client.
