TRULY SCRUMPTIOUS TEA ROOM Come and visit our Tea Room at 106 High Street, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5ET, you won't regret it, you will receive a warm welcome from our friendly and helpful staff and I am sure you will enjoy the ambiance and good food and drink we serve. All our food is of the best quality and freshly made to order with our homemade soup, scones and cakes being a very popular choice. We pride ourselves in serving the best Coffee around - ILLY, and also the best Tea, we have a good selection of Dammann Freres speciality teas, which are certainly worth a try! The Tea Room is licensed and so we can offer a selection of wines and beers to wash down your meal as well as non alcoholic cold drinks. The listed building dates from 1680 and still has a lot of original features remaining, fireplaces, beams and floorboards and has so much character and charm it's definately worth a visit but do take care when climbing the narrow stairway to the loo and keep an eye out for the resident ghost on the way! We have an afternoon tea menu not to be missed, Cream Tea with homemade scones, butter, jam and cream, Afternoon Tea with sandwiches, crumpets, scones and cake and an extra special Afternoon Tea which includes a glass of champagne for that special occasion.
