At Manor, we place equal emphasis on examination success, out of school hours learning which includes opportunities such as trips, visits, performances and sporting activities and on the values which will enable students to make a positive contribution to their community and help them to take their place in the world of work. We are committed to quality opportunities and excellence for all our students and encourage them to be the best they can.
We also recognise that the partnership between home and school is a key one. We want to work closely with parents/carers and to establish an open, honest dialogue based upon mutual trust. We are happy to meet with parents or carers at any time during the school year.
Manor Academy enjoys a growing reputation as an academy at the leading edge of educational thinking and development. During the last few years the school has:
•Achieved record examination results at the end of Key Stage 3 and at GCSE. English results at Year 9 have placed the school in the top 25% of similar schools nationally. In 2007, Manor was named in the top 100 Secondary Schools in the country for sustained improvement at 5+ A* - C grades including English and Mathematics
•Been the first school in Nottinghamshire to gain the National Healthy School Gold Standard
•Invested in the latest interactive technologies to enhance learning and improve standards and achievement.The ratio of computers to students is now 1:3, well above the Government's recommendation of 1:5
•Achieved a record third national innovation award for our work as a Sports College
•Been re-designated as an Artsmark Gold School
