Morpeth Golf Club

Morpeth Golf Club

Loansdean, Morpeth ,
Morpeth Golf Club, founded in 1906, is a private members club of approximately 950 playing and social members. Situated just 15 miles north of Newcastle, our course is one of the North East’s gems. Back in 1906 when the club was formed, the gentlemen of Morpeth initially played their golf on a field at Tranwell before moving to the club’s present location on the outskirts of the town. The course was designed by six times Open champion Harry Vardon and offers you a golfing experience that is as picturesque as it is challenging. The 18 hole parkland course set in about 130 acres of undulating Northumberland countryside is often used for national and county events. Local golf journalist Paul Corney in a recent review called the course “Magnificent Morpeth” and stated “It is quite understandable why Morpeth continues to be selected to host both national and county events- it’s just a cracking golf course”.
Morpeth Central

Morpeth Central

14 Market Place, Morpeth ,
Morpeth Central is a website that binds together community, customers and commerce with one common purpose; to make the market town of Morpeth and the region a more prosperous and vibrant place for businesses, visitors and residents. Existing town websites and associated directories are mock local, incomplete, expensive or just totally devoid of a reason for people to use them. But market towns must find a way to respond online to customer hungry businesses such as Amazon and ASDA. Market towns must seek to successfully link community, customers and commerce by providing an incentive for customers to keep coming back to the town and the region. We are seeing the rise of dedicated discount sites such as; dealmonster, wowcher and groupon.. But these sites tend to attract opportunistic customers rather than reliable regulars. At Morpeth Central we have built a website that gives people a reason to come to Morpeth and the region. Real local day-to-day deals and offers in a Discount Diary. A Business Directory that contains all the 400+ Business in Morpeth; large, small, unique and specialist. In the first year will aim to have over 60% of the businesses in a 15 mile radius of Morpeth in the directory. So customers can really see what is available locally. A Social Diary that contains everything that is going on from pub music and quizzes to playgroups and yoga classes. At launch the site lists approximately 350 events a month. 40 pages of information that include; ideas for going out, things to do with families, a list of the 50 clubs in Morpeth and a page of venues for events. Every part of the site is focused on increasing footfall in Morpeth and the region. The combination of a Discount Diary that is linked to a Business Directory alongside a hectic Social Diary, a lively Form and local Classified Ads plus loads of pages with information and ideas makes Morpeth Central standout as the benchmark for future town sites. purpose; to make the market town of Morpeth an even more prosperous and vibrant place for businesses, visitors and residents.
