44 East Lea Learning Hive on the Moor Estate
Northern Learning Trust provides bespoke demand led learning opportunities in the community, focusing particularly on the Bernicia Tenants of Newbiggin-by-the-sea. We deliver a range of free and informal activities to help people realise their potential and raise levels of community activity.
Ideally we are looking for anyone on the estate who wants to learn more about stuff – themselves, their community, their future. Our friendly & experienced staff enjoy engaging people who could benefit from developing their life and learning skills.
Northern Learning Trust offers opportunities for individuals and groups to explore new horizons.
Below is sample of some of the activities that we offer:
• Arts & Crafts
• Local / Family History
• Basic & Intermediate IT
• Confidence building
• Cook & Eat/Healthy Eating
• Adult Literacy
• HeartStart basic First Aid
• Adult Numeracy
• Money Matters
• Help your kids with homework
• Work Skills
• Community Mentor training
The Learning Hive also actively encourages the community and individuals to suggest other activities that they feel may be of benefit to them, for example, setting up a Social Enterprise, a Community Initiative or a residents’ group.
If you know anyone who lives or works on the estate, then please pass my contact details on or get in touch directly. I will be working on Tuesdays / Thursday & Fridays. If you would like to know more about the Trust’s work, do not hesitate to contact me or ring the Hive on t: 01670 855880 or m: 07918 627774 egalvin@northernlearningtrust.org
