,
The service works with young people aged 11 -19 and up to 25 for those with special educational needs or disabilities.
The main aim of the Youth Support Service is to widen horizons for all young people and it does this by:
•Increasing young people’s knowledge and skills
•Developing young people’s personal and social well-being
•Raising young people’s participation in learning
•Empowering and enabling young people to engage in decision making about things that affect them
•Safeguarding and protecting young people
The Youth Support Service also supports vulnerable and disadvantaged young people. We do this by identifying those young people who may need extra help and providing them with additional support from a named worker. Where young people have specific problems we support them in getting the help they need from specialist services.
