This project was originally pioneered by the Trussell Trust and their aim is to open foodbanks all around the country. Okehampton foodbank opened in 2008. We help individuals and families in crisis by providing free emergency food. Okehampton foodbank is run by volunteers from the Okehampton Community, though Okehampton Baptist Church, Fore Street, Okehampton We operate a 'drop-in' centre at Okehampton Baptist Church on Fridays from 10.00 - 12.00. Okehampton Baptist Church is a group of people committed to Jesus and each other. Some have been in Okehampton since they can remember and others are from further away. We are from a variety of backgrounds and are all ages – from 1 to 90! What draws us together is an experience of the love of God and a desire to know him better. We know God makes a difference! Okehampton Baptist Church has been in the town for well over 100 years – We are established neighbours! Isn’t it time you got to know us better? The best way to find out about us is to meet us!
