County Hotel, Peebles.
Set on the main street of this historic borders town the County Hotel has a history stretching back over 400 years. In its current guise it represents a fine example of a country pub with exposed brickwork, 2 open fires and plenty of wood paneling.
The County offers an extensive menu of home cooked food with many products sourced locally. Produced fresh on site daily the food is both high quality and reasonably priced with starters and desserts from £2.99 and main courses from £6.99. Of particular note is the Fish and Chips with a massive portion of North Atlantic Haddock served with golden chips and peas, the fish was fluffy and melted in the mouth and batter added just enough crunch to contrast. As well as the standard menu a daily specials board adds extra variety and is worthy of a read before ordering.

Alongside the food the site has four Cask Ale pumps alongside a great selection of continental lagers with an extensive wine menu and a selection over 30 Malt Whisky’s.
