Hi all, I've been in the local music scene for a while now and have developed a good reputation through nothing but hard work and professionalism. I started my own promotions company last year and love it so much, I've worked extremely hard to ensure the survival and success of my local venue (where I am now the Events & Promotions Manager) along with a few other local promoters. It's been tough. But it's been great. In all the time I've been in the local music scene, I have witnessed some shocking portrayals or unprofessionalism, some unbelievable statements, crazy actions and stupid decisions from people that are supposed to be re-building the local scenes around the UK. On the flip side of that I have seen heroism within the scene, utmost professionalism, extraordinary hard work, and incredible effort. I have also seen many MANY bands and people complaining about these people - and indeed praising them. So, I though it about time we throw the floor open to you, the musicians and venues to get some of these names out there. Praise the good, shame the bad. If we want the local scene to survive, this, I feel is at least one step forward. Avoid those dodgy promoters, work with the good. We can build a great database here that will be beneficial to all. I am making this available to venue owners, musicians, bands and anyone else involved in the local scenes - even other promoters. PLEASE NOTE - this is not me sensationalising anyone or anything, and I'm not looking for praise for my efforts, I just want a level playing field for everyone.
