12 Moves
12 Moves is produced by Dancefest, with artistic directors SDNA, and is supported by Bromsgrove District Council, Malvern Hills District Council, Redditch Borough Council, Worcester City Council, Wychavon District Council, Wyre Forest District Council, Worcestershire County Council and VisitWorcester.
The aim of the project is to give people in Worcestershire the opportunity to take part in dance – for health, for fun, to create and to see dance in surprising places using film and live dance.
The Dance Squads' aim is to demonstrate how dance can be one way of getting fit and be part of a healthy lifestyle. Get in touch if you would like to find out about classes you can go to, or are part of an organisation that might like to try dance. There are different types to choose from that include street dance, Zumba®, Chance to Dance (for people aged 55+), and creative classes.
The project is being evaluated in partnership with the University of Worcester to find out how 12 Moves impacts on participants’ health, fitness, enjoyment and understanding of dance. This will involve completion of questionnaires and taking part in focus group discussions.
