The first Western Esoteric Training to fully address emotional, mental and spiritual development, integrating the ancient spiritual wisdom of the West with full certification as a Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. The vision of the founders of the Helios School of Esoteric Science is to create initiates who are worthy of that term. The purpose of “Helios” is to enable our students to create fulfilling and magical lives for themselves and those they love, to identify their purpose in life and to live that purpose as fully as possible. Andy Cooper took on the task of writing the First Degree Training. Based on many years of esoteric training, a career as a senior corporate learning professional and three years of Ph.D research he started writing the First Degree Training in 2009 and soon after small number of students joined the school to be the first students to test out the material. Between 2009 and 2012 all of the feedback from the initial group of students was incorporated, the training materials were restructured and expanded and the core material for certification as a Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) was fully integrated into the training. In acknowledgement of the greatly expanded and revised training now including the full NLP Practitioner and to appeal to a broader audience, The Academy Of the Opened Ways was renamed “The Helios School Of Esoteric Science” in September 2012. “Helios” is a daughter school of The Servants of the Light (SOL) and holds a charter signed by Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki, the Director of Studies of SOL. The School encompasses First and Second Degree Courses. Students following the First Degree Training (“The Portal of the Mysteries”) learn and study the basics of personal and spiritual development and magical practice in the Western Mysteries. This includes the Qabalah, Tarot and Practitioner Certification in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and is of three years duration. The training in preparation for the Second Degree is called “The Journey of Ra” and is based on ancient Egyptian magic and metaphysics. It is an intensive, three-year training programme that includes energy healing work and concludes with training and certification as a Master Practitioner of NLP.

The Chalice Well is among the best known and most loved holy wells in Britain. Many legends are attributed to its chalybeate waters, which flow ceaselessly at a steady rate and temperature that never varies. Not least among these is that they represent the blood of Christ miraculously springing forth from the ground when Joseph of Arimathea buried or washed the cup used at the Last Supper. For others the waters are acknowledged as the essence of life, the gift from Mother Earth to sustain its living forms and so a continuous spring like Chalice Well is a direct expression of an unbounded life force.

We are a new Bed and Breakfast set close to the heart of Glastonbury and just down the lane from the famous and splendid Tor. We are a short stroll from the intriguing town centre with its eclectic mix of shops, bars and restaurants, right next to the ruins of the Abbey and close to Chalice Well, one of Britain's most ancient wells - set in beautiful gardens and orchards, where people have gathered to drink the waters and find peace and inspiration. So, we are very handily placed for many of the town's attractions. The very beautiful city of Wells is also close by and holds a great market in the square by the cathedral every Saturday. So, lots to visit and explore in this interesting and pretty part of Somerset.
