Studio 9
Studio 9 is a Recording/Rehearsal Studio in the heart of Glastonbury, Somerset. We offer a wide range of musical services at Studio 9 - Recording / Rehearsal Space / Production / Mixing / Mastering / Tuition. Just as important we’re not just knob-twiddlers or techies (although we do know our click track from our comb-filter). We’re musicians and, having spent years on the other side of the glass, we know what musicians expect from a studio. And that’s what has inspired us to create Studio 9.
Recording
You may be an unsigned band making your first demo or a touring band recording an album. You could be a solo artist looking for an intimate, acoustic sound or a 10 piece combo out to capture your live energy. Whatever, we’ll bring out the best in your chops and licks. We offer 32 channels of digital recording using Apple Logic 9 software. We can combine old school with state-of-the-art. We have more digital and analogue effects processors, compressors, tube amps and mics than you can shake a pick at.
In short, we’ve got whatever it takes to capture your sound. Every nuance. Every note.
That’s the who and the what, this is the where - slap bang in the centre of Glastonbury; a stone’s throw from the high street, the local pubs and shops. And if you need your chakras re-channeled or your karma corrected, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
More importantly, in the shadow of the mystical Tor, Glastonbury is renowned for the creative energy and music that flow through it. Ask any one of the millions who, since 1970, have stopped by for the town’s legendary festival. Or any of the bands who’ve turned up, tuned in and rocked out in ‘a special place where magical things happen’. Going with the Glastonbury vibe, Studio 9 has designed a space that allows you to absorb the energy; an environment in which you can relax and let the music happen.
The acoustically treated studio consists of a live music room (20 ft. sq.), a smaller vocal booth (6 ft. sq.) and a control room.
The studio has a chill out area with entertainment including TV, playstation, DVD player and table tennis. Refreshments are also available.
Mastering
Once you’ve finished your recording, Studio 9 can master it. Using the latest software and hardware we will work with you as well as for you to release your music’s full potential. We can output your music in a number of different ways, with varying equalization and compression depending on your needs. Regardless of genre or format we’re skilled in the art of making music sound good on any system. On radio, CD or digital download we’ll make sure your music is outputted to a professional level that exceeds the industry standards.
Rehearsing
We understand the importance of a relaxed and comfortable rehearsal space. So ours includes a 20 ft. sq. acoustically treated live music room, complete with HK Audio 1000w PA system and a selection of mics. You can also hire guitar and bass amps as well as drum kits from us.
We’re flexible with times, so please drop us a line if you are interested in rehearsal time.
Production
Studio 9 also offers a full production service. Experienced in all types of music, our knowledge and experience can help you create a bespoke sound.
