At some time during its history it has consisted of two buildings which have had many uses, inluding a bakery. Here at Bewdley Festival we are tremendously proud that this year’s Festival will be the 25th run by local volunteers, as it has been since the first one was held in 1988. Every October in our small, beautiful town on the River Severn, we offer 9 evening events and at least 10 in the daytime. In addition we have two art exhibitions, street entertainment, workshops for schools and others, and special church services as well as a Fringe which we encourage but do not run. The Festival is organised to appeal to as wide a range of tastes as possible with appearances by big names in the worlds of comedy, literature, drama, television and music of all kinds, and a mixture of talks on fascinating topics that never fail to amuse and educate.
