BBC Radio Lancashire is the BBC Local Radio service for the county of Lancashire, in North West England. It began as BBC Radio Blackburn on 26 January 1971 on 96.4FM, then adding 854 kHz AM in 1972 and changing to its current name on 4 July 1981. The Blackburn Egyptology Society (Thebes) is a newly formed society which will meet on a monthly basis, with the inaugural meeting on 7th November 2011. Meetings will usually take place on the first Monday of each month, in the Hornby Lecture Theatre, which is located on the first floor of Blackburn Library, and begin at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm). Entry only £4. As an open and welcoming society our meetings will provide an opportunity for you to share your interest in Ancient Egypt, and make friends with like-minded people, as well as offering you the chance to learn a little (or even a lot) more about this fascinating subject. We have put together an exciting and diverse programme of lectures for our second year, including talks from professional Egyptologists and post-graduates. As a new and inclusive society we intend to be approachable and open to suggestions so please feel free to get involved. So, whatever your age or level of interest why not come along and see what Thebes can offer you? Football Club Blackburn (FC Rovers of Blackburn, FC Blackburn) is a semi-professional English football club based in Blackburn. The club was formed in 2011 by Blackburn Rovers supporters, many of them believed there beloved club was no longer theirs following Rao family (Venkys) takeover. They are affectionally referred to as "The Rovers Radicals". General Info: Club Name: Football Club Blackburn Founded: June, 2011 Club colours: Blue, white and red Our mission is to provide a Club to the people of Blackburn who actually care about the area and the love of the sport. Not making money from football and draining the resources of the club for simple greed and wealth. F.C Blackburn are against the Rao takeover and not B.R.F.C. You will see in our Club Manifesto that we will provide youth teams from ages Under 11 to Under 16 aswell as a Reserve and First Team and long term provide facilties for people of Blackburn to use.. such as a Stadium and a Full Size Synthetic Pitch. As the Rao family continue to destroy our club, there will no longer be a Blackburn Rovers to support when they leave the club after relegation this season. These people have embrassed the name of Blackburn Rovers in the press and public with their ridicolous behaviour. Our reputation which has been built up by years of tradition and great men who had Blackburn Rovers in there heart is in ruin, the laughing stock of the press and the Premier League and sadly things will only get worse. The club has been set up so that the people of Blackburn have a club that is truely theirs. A club run by the fans for the fans. After the poor running of the Club in the 2010/2011 season there were ideas to start the club but as fans we were patient with the owners and decided to give time but after the latest revalations and embarrasments in the press we decided to act. Sadly the club missed the deadline for entry to the North West Counties 'Vodkat League' for the 2011/2012 season but will be reapplying for the 2012/2013 season. Anyone who is interested in becoming a member or helping support the club please get intouch with a message we will be holding General Meetings monthly for members so that members can have a input into the running of the club. There will be trials for players in the following months for anyone wanting to pull on the tradtional Blue and White shirt and help lead the club up the English Football Ladder. Enough is Enough, Venkys have taken our Football Club from us so lets take Blackburn back....ARTE ET LABORE
