Asheron Guitar Lessons
Welcome to Asheron Guitar Lessons.
I am a music teacher in the Bournemouth and Dorset area, I teach beginners through to intermediate a range of styles such as Flamenco, Classical, Bossa Nova, Samba, Salsa, Rock, African and reggae.
My main instrument is guitar but I also teach bass and percussion to go with these styles.
I come from a musical family, my father is a singer and my mother a percussionist. There were always guitars around the house, so I got into playing guitar since I was 5 years old.
In my early teens I started playing classical guitar at school, in my early twenties I learned Flamenco techniques from a school in Andalusia (Spain) and performed at weddings, private functions, hotels and restaurants with and without dancers.
In 2001 I studied a BTEC National Diploma in Music and Technology at Bournemouth and Poole College and in 2005 I started to teach my first guitar students.
In 2007 I travelled South America for a year to learn more about Latin music. In Bahia, Brazil I studied authentic Samba and Bossa nova from a local master.
Since I came back to Bournemouth I have performed Flamenco and classical guitar solo and in duos. Additionally, I play bass in Guarapo (traditional Cuban Music), and guitar and bass with Afro Tallawah (Reggae and Afro beat)
The reason I teach a wide range of styles is to give my students a good range of authentic techniques so they can be versatile and eventually express themselves with their own musical style or specialise in a particular genre.
I also do session work for live performances and recordings.
I not only teach guitar lessons, but can help you to produce your own demo in my recording studio for when you feel ready to get gigging or to make your own album.
