Nature and Nurture CIC aims to support and improve the positive mental health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families, through the provision of an innovative combination of specialist psychological and other therapies, in a non-clinical, safe environment, at no cost to the end user.
The clients of this social enterprise will be offered the opportunity to address their difficulties (on a 1:1 basis or in small groups) using cutting edge approaches to the treatment of trauma. Research in the field of neuroscience and psychology/counselling highlights the dramatic benefits of ecotherapy and 'body-based' therapies (e.g. EFT, Yoga, relaxation, mindfulness, aromatherapy etc) when treating trauma and we believe that combining these with traditional, evidence-based therapies (counselling, play therapy, art therapy etc) in a peaceful, low-stress, countryside setting will be of great value.
Nature and Nurture CIC will be accommodated in renovated farm outbuildings, providing children's/teenage/family therapy rooms; group room; reception; treatment room; kitchen; & toilets. The accommodation opens onto a paddock for easy access to nature and the animals involved in the project.
