Davenport Rugby Club brought you the famous 'Glengarth 7s' and as Stockport Rugby Club, we are pleased to bring you the 'Stockport 7s'. A day of 7s rugby including a beer festival and live music all within a fantastic friendly atmosphere. The 2012 Stockport 7s will be on Saturday 2nd June 2012. ' HEADLANDER FESTIVAL' will be one of the best music festivals' in South Manchester, taking place at Stockport RUFC on Friday 21st June and Saturday 22nd June 2013. The festival will run Friday from 6pm - 11.30pm and on Saturday from 12 noon till 11.30pm across 2 fully covered High Spec Marquees/ Acoustic Lounge. The 2 days will host the finest bands / artist's from the Manchester music scene & beyond , with 30 hrs of music , 45 bands/ acoustic artists performing. There will also be a number of other attractions running alongside the music such as - Phase One Radio BATTLE OF THE BANDS Trade Village Secure Parking Foods from around the World WILD THINGS Children & Family activities Music workshops Silent Disco Skate Park Performing arts Press and media tent Camping Plus more Stockport RUFC have an excellent pedigree of organising great music events. They have hosted a number of large music festivals over the last 14 years, having international acts performing, as well as, The Halle Orchestra ( performed their Summer extravaganza). We are also very proud to announce that our chosen charity is ' The Christies Hospital' Tickets can soon be purchased on line , at retail outlets and at the venue.

The Stockport Easter 8's Tournament is the oldest men's and women's 8's tournament in Europe. 2013 will be the 40th Anniversary of the tournament and we want to make this year’s tournament the biggest to date to help celebrate. This years tournament will take place over Easter weekend (30th/31st March). Saturday 30th March - Women's Sunday 31st March - Men's Prize money for the winners!! What is Relay For Life? Relay For Life brings you and your town together to help beat cancer. Throughout the year, teams fundraise in their local communities to support the work of Cancer Research UK. Then everyone comes together in an inspiring overnight celebration and commemoration that the whole community can be part of. Relay events focus on fun for all the family, regardless of age or fitness level – everyone is welcome! On the day of the Relay At the event everybody gathers at their local track, stadium or sports field and take turns walking laps. Each team keeps at least one member on the track at all times, while all around them a party is in full swing. Relay events have a friendly, festival-like atmosphere that the whole family can enjoy. Camping, music, stalls and entertainment will be laid on, and most of the teams taking part camp overnight. Every Relay For Life lasts 12 to 24 hours, runs overnight and includes a Survivors' Lap of Honour and a moving Candle of Hope ceremony. How do I take part? You can take part in your local Relay event as a Team Captain, a Team Member or Survivor. If you want to start a team, you’ll need to become a Team Captain or ask someone you know to become one and then join their team as a Team Member. Team Captains must be 18 or over and are responsible for registering for an event. They then let their friends and family know the team name and ask them to join them as Team members. You can join a team via their online fundraising page. Search for a team. Survivors are our guests of honour. All you need to do is sign up as a survivor for the event of your choice and attend on the day. Simple!
